Seeing the first OGC was a success, they decided to make another one for the joy of all the fans...

Track 1:
The first track is taken from Mother 2 known in America as Earthbound. Because I Love You sounds exactly like the beginning of a movie. It combines a soft melody with a light beat. My favourite part is when the trumpets make their entrance. I really like this track. It really makes a good start for the album.

Track 2:
This track sounds like oriental music and remains at the same time enjoyable. Nothing much to complain or say about this track.

Track 3:
"Huh?" was my reaction when I saw the title. I mean, did anybody ever think that SimCity music was going to be orchestrated? I don't think so. But even if it is surprising, the arrangement is also surprising. There is a part where the intensity rises and gives something like the Imperial March from Star Wars. This track is actually THE big surprise of the CD.

Track 4:
If the previous track was a great surprise, well this one isn't. Some SimCity players told me that this track was a total success. So it depends whether you like classical music. I find it too soft and without any action. For my part, I say:"Skip it if you don't like it!"

Track 5:
Really representative of the game, the next track is supposed to represent some soldier game. The fanfare at the beginning really sounds like a war game. Some say this is their favourite, some hate it. Since music is a matter of taste then you better decide. As for me, I think it is an average track.

Track 6:
The track really starts with some energy as a brass ensemble plays a great motive. Then, my favourite part starts. The part really puts you in the mood for action. I really like this track. Then the music slows down and becomes soft. The soft part is SO beautiful. Then again, the energetic motive starts to end the track. This is my favourite track on the CD. I don't even know the game but the music is sure great.

Track 7:
This track is also from Nobunaga’s Ambition and like the other one, it is really great. Sure, it may not be as good as the first, but I still like it. The part where the strings play something dramatic and sad is so beautiful. One thing is for sure, I want to play that game....

Track 8:
Since Koichi Sugiyama studied in music, all his compositions are linked to classical music. So if you don't like classical music then again, you don't like this one. Being myself a trumpet player, I like the track but it's not one of my favourites. Again, since he does some of the arrangements, there is always Dragon Quest music taken from their respective Symphonic Suites.

Track 9:
A great waltz from Koichi Sugiyama. If you want to waltz this is for you. He really did a good job for this one.

Track 10:
I never played a Wizardry game but I music taken from the game. This track starts with a piano where we can feel some nostalgia and sadness. The piano part is really great. Then, it becomes a "magical and adventure" theme. What do I mean by that? It's simple. When I heard it the first time, I imagined myself a game where there is magic and adventure. I usually only listen to the piano part.

Track 11:
I don't like this track but the main theme really represents the title. When I hear it, I always picture some butterflies and birds in a forest. If you want something soft, this is the track.

Track 12:
A really sad song taken from a game I've never played. In fact I've never played almost all of the games mentioned on this album. A really beautiful but sad theme.

Track 13:
This is great when the French horns enter in the main theme. A soft song reminding me of old movies. Like the title of the game it really sounds like a sound novel. At some point it is good but there are some boring parts. It really builds up in intensity at some parts. I would say someone dies while this music plays. I like this track.

Track 14:
We can really feel the dramatic scene happening when listening to this track. A nice combination with all the entrances of the instruments. Really great.

Tracks 15 to 18:
Taken from Final Fantasy V, these tracks are not what I would call a great choice. The Opening Theme is kind of boring because it doesn't "move". There is what I would call the great part in this one. It's when we can fell that something horrible is happening. That part sounds like "The Death Star" motive.
Waltz Clavier adds a little fun and happiness in the FFV part of the album. Just dance when hearing this one. As for Town Theme, it remains a boring town themes. (Since you may all know, I hate town themes except form some ones)If you like town themes then you'll be pleased with this one.
Main Theme I like this one. It makes a solid ending for the album. The theme of "Lenna" included in the main theme is just so beautiful. I think this is a great track. As for the rest of the track, it is a beautiful melody. Great track.

Overall:
It was a bit long for a review but hey, it's better than nothing. The CD is my favourite OGC album even if I never played the majority of the games mentioned. Again, if you want to buy this album or any OGC album, you'll have a hard time. It's so rare that the price goes up to 200$ on some auction sites. I give it 89 out of 100!
