Well, this is the last album of the OGC collection and the rarest I think. This CD has many music from games that we, North Americans, have never heard of. I don't know a single person who has ever heard about Iihatoovo Story. But, the CD remains a success because it has so good music.

TRACK 1:
The first track is taken from Kirby's Super Deluxe. The first time I saw the title I said to myself: "God, this must be boring". I played a Kirby game once and the music never got to my attention because it was somewhat ordinary. But this, this is different. The track starts with a clarinet solo followed by a great fanfare which sounds like "Beetlejuice Main Theme". Then it goes on with a march. Never knew, Kirby had such good music!

TRACK 2:
You like jazz? You like good old jazz? This is made for you. The dixieland style is used in this track. Though it may sound fun, you might get bored because it's mainly the main theme repeating. (Not the Mario theme, but the main theme of the track). If you want something jazzy, this track is for you.

TRACK 3:
Oh my god! Donkey Kong Music! I always liked the music of the game. So when I saw that "Water Music" was on the CD, I went all crazy and I wanted to get my hands on the CD. The track starts with swing-style music that you can hear in some forests. Then, the music slows down and a beautiful Oboe solo enters. You are now in trance. And if it wasn't enough, the whole orchestra enters and then it's the summum....whoa...After that the same swing-style music enters to conclude the track. You have to hear this. This would be my favorite track of the CD.

TRACK 4:
This track is taken from Fire Emblem 2, a game I've never heard of. The music isn't so bad. It starts with a big fanfare led by the trumpets and then slows down to become soft. A small trumpet solo would be the best part of the track. The track is 6 minutes long....way too long for nothing...

TRACK 5:
This track is from Dragon Quest VI. Every OGC has one in it since Koichi Sugiyama conducts the orchestra. I usually skip this track and the next one. They sound like classical concerts...boring. Anyway, you can find these tracks on Dragon Quest VI Symphonic Suite.

TRACK 6:
This one is more interesting because of its rhythm, but I usually skip this track too. Anybody could compose something like this. Well I could, it's just so simple. That makes the track boring.

TRACK 7:
This is what I would call an "epic" track. Just seeing the name of Hercules put you in the mood for the music. Sure, it takes time to become interesting, but when it really starts (at 2 min 30) it becomes really interesting. It sounds just like a movie score.

TRACK 8:
This is another of my favorites. The game is "Paladin Quest 2". Well, that's what it would have been called if the game would have been released in North America. It starts with an oboe solo. (Oboe solos are always so beautiful). The action really starts at about 2 minutes. I never knew Paladin Quest had such great music.

Track 9:
I have never heard of this game. And I'll never play to it because the music isn't that good. No seriously, I usually skip this track.

TRACK 10:
Iihatoovo Story.....??? If you want something slow and soothing, this track is for you. I recognized some "Greensleeves" parts in the track. If you imagine the events occurring while the music plays, I would say they are sad...don't know why.

TRACK 11:
Secret of Mana 2. (For those who might wonder: No, it is really a 2 and not a 3) The track starts with the theme from "Close encounters of the third kind" of John Williams. The theme is used with permission. Then, a great fanfare starts. Really good arrangement.

TRACK 12:
The first time I play a game, I always watch the Introduction sequence. For Chrono Trigger, I heard the Intro music and the moment after, I wanted to know the name of the music composer. That's when I saw for the first time the name of Yasunori Mitsuda, one of the greatest composers in video game music. Anyway, the Chrono theme sounds really good orchestrated. It starts with the main theme and it is followed by Marle's theme (I believe it is so, but I'm not sure) to continue again with the main theme. Really good track.

OVERALL:
It is hard to rate this album since it is an OGC album. They are all good but you have to rate them anyway. So I believe it deserves an 88 because it contains a lot of good music. If you want an original copy of the album, you will have a hard time trying to find one. It's one of the rarest CD's in the VGM industry. The price goes up to 200$ in some auction sites. But anyway you can find the mp3's on the main FTP server of RPGamers.net.
